Hey bro, seems that you too are confused. No not at all I have no relation with HBCSE. Actually I am going to appear for IJSO next year and I am younger than you so please don't call me sir. And about cut off I had solved the paper of INJSO hence I can expect the cut off near 40 marks. Also I am a resonite so my faculty told me about the difficulty level of paper.
My score is around 60. So what according to you should be my position. I am hearing(and have also analysed myself) that the paper was quite difficult than the last year. So, last year's cutoff was 39. Now it must be around 39-40 only no. I think 45-48 is quite higher than expectef.
Om, if u r a Kota resonite, what r expected marks by resonance candidates this year as last year resonites brought laurels in the final international event.
I am not a Kota resonite. I am a Mumbai's resonance student. However in Kota cut off may be near by 150-155 marks or even it may be greater than last year. Please to know the cut off post your marks with your name. All the best.
According to the marks posted by anonymous there are 25 people's marks among which lowest is 34.5. So, if rest 10 students will secure in between 30-50 or 50-70 or whatever the cut off would reach 40-45.Not more than it.
And I even think cut off would go up just to 40..seeing the past results...and some of the ques should have bonus markings..lets see what happens.. All the best everyone Ps: I am expecting a score of 45
I think that the cutoff will be higher than 40, around 45-48 as predicted by Nilesh. This year's paper was simpler and more straightforward than last year's paper, even though a few concepts were out of syllabus. Last year's INJSO was the most difficult one in my opinion. Also, which questions do you dispute in the answer key? I think they're all correct..
Blue-green algae are just cyanobacteria, which derive their name from some blue colored pigment whose name I don't remember. I know there are some red pigemented cyanobacteria but those were just a recent scientific discovery and are not significant. The answer should be only blue light.
but according to the picture and engleman"s experiment two zones were seen. the question was copied from campbell, where it is clearly written two zones, blue and red,
But many people whom I have met are claiming to score above 50 and said that the paper was easier than last year. While Resonance faculty is saying the opposite.
Right. No one knows anyone's marks. The maximum number of students who are above than 50 may be 10-15. Rest 20students out of 35 will get between 39-50.
Omji, my score is around 45.Do I have any chance of qualifying? Student of class 9, Tamil Nadu. Is there any concession for class 9 students? How to prepare for OCSC if I am qualified?
Ok!!!! Listen dear. You are surely going to get selected in OCSC. Now please don't call me sir or ji. And in camp there is 40% theory and 60% practical so I think that you can ace in theory and for practical just know how to do experiments and for this you should know theory well so nothing is impossible if we put in effort. But everything is impossible without effort just chill. And celebrate your success of qualifying even 1st round it is not a game. All the best.
The solutions approached by me are done in a different way compared to that given by HBCSE.But they are also correct.will I be provided with adequate marks??
how can the cutoff be around 45-48.the previous years was 39.and this year some 685 students were eligible for injso with some students securing 190-220 marks in nsejs.will the cutoff overshoot 50????
Don't worry about it too much. Most of the students scoring 190-220 are from Andhra Pradesh where cheating is rampant. They usually fail to deliver when it comes to subjective exams. Last year, 123 students were selected from the state for INJSO and only 9 made it to the OCSC. None made it to the internationals. If I were you, I'd worry about the students scoring good marks from the rest of India.
Hey ..now everybody will start getting the performance cards....please post the marks and name to aid in guessing of cut off..........I think it wont shoot above 45
Anyone who receives score card, please at least post the information that it has ben received, even if you don't want to disclose name & score. That will help others know that the process in well underway.
friends dont worry about marks or making it to the ocsc.the chance of appearing in injso will definitely encourage all of you.it may be that one has scored less marks in biology and so is unable to qualify but has done extremely well in physics or chemistry.one can go up with it to crack even tougher exams like ipho, icho even ibo

Those who have posted marks as 34.5, 40.25 , 45.35 ...kindly clarify if these are the marks as reflected in the score card and whether the cards have been received.
Spandan Senapati --> Who are you talking to and about what ? when you said "advanced congratulations for qualifying for the ocsc.you will definitely make it." you meant which exam INJSO or INMO. and to whom you said it ?
However marks posted here are only of good children.......those who score badly will not post their marks here.......so cut off will always be lower than expected.....around 42-43 this time
My score is 62.75. I am NOT from AP & neither the candidate with 71 marks is from AP. I am curious to know marks of Andhra Pradesh candidates as 388 students made it to 2nd level from AP. Unless the score profile of AP becomes known, picture won't be clear.
According to the marks posted by anonymous there are 25 people's marks among which lowest is 34.5. So, if rest 10 students will secure in between 30-50 or 50-70 or whatever the cut off would reach 40-45.Not more than it.
Avg of above marks is around 50-51. So for the other 10, if they score an avg of 37, the total avg comes to 46.8. Even if you scale it down, cutoff looms around 44-49. Just as predicted by Nilesh.
PS After seeing the overall performance, I have lost all the hope I had for selection. I doubt I will get even above 40.
But consider this: cutoff has nothing to do with the highest score or avg. Of top 10 etc. HBCSE would simply select 35 top students meritwise. So the marks of the 35th student become the cutoff. Isn't it?
It appears that most of the candidates posting their score here are from places other than Andhra. Does anyone know the average marks scored there as many of them had scored marks like 215, 221 etc in 1st level.
I live in andhra Pradesh, my score in INJSO is 44.5, I will try to gather information in AP.I request anyone in the blog to predict the cutoff and post her. But I have not received INAO marks
But consider this: cutoff has nothing to do with the highest score or avg. Of top 10 etc. HBCSE would simply select 35 top students meritwise. So the marks of the 35th student become the cutoff. Isn't it?
Absolutely right. But the highest scores do give an idea of the level upto which the cutoff can get escalated to as compared to last year's cutoff . Hence the interest in knowing top scores.
Cut off will be anywhere between 45---50. Marks 50 and above are safe zone 45--50 are transitional zone. Below 45 are in risk zone. Any different opinion.....?
Last year Resonance Kota class room programme students had won 3 medals in International Olympiad. Any idea about score of their batch of this year for INJSO?
I am the same one from AP,around ten members from AP and TS,scored above 40, I am telling this by inquiring top campuses here only and this is my prediction.
After Statistically Calculating the data available from all the sources (N=42),here is the result Using 99% Confidence Limits - Expected cutoff :- 45.75 Thus Range of cutoff - 45.75(+/-)1% Mean of the data - 49.58
Sorry It will be 45.75. Please ignore the Range given(45.75(+/-)1%). It has been given by mistake. But, the exact calculated cutoff is 45.75, that is correct.
Plz those who know the marks of their friends of a particular state(above 45). Post the marks with the state. Try to collect marks of all the toppers of your state and post the marks as soon as possible.
Do marks significantly change after revaluation? I was actually expecting 40.Got 35.25 (WB). Is there any use sending for revaluation? Please tell from past experience or if you know anyone as such who has sent for revaluation before.
PS. If there is no chance of selection even in 39-40 marks, it is equally useless sending it for revaluation. So in that case reply accordingly.
Please refrain from making derogatory statements about any one or any state. It is the astounding result which AP students delivered in the first level of such a complex examination which is causing doubts in the minds of others. However, it is understood that coaching centres in Andhra carry out intense training for this examination right from early classes like 7th or 8th. So it is quite probable that creamy lot of creamy centres of certain coaching classes may happen to deliver such output. I feel that the second level INJSO result will be able to throw some light on the true scenario. But unfortunately, I am unable to see any AP student posting marks on this forum (except one post). So the situation is still ambiguous and we will have to wait to see the official HBCSE result to arrive at any conclusion.
Please be accurate with facts. This scenario i.e. astounding result in 1st round and not so great in 2nd round by Andhra students is not new. It was so for the last 2-3 years too.
Let us see.
ReplyDeleteMy mrks according to the performance card is 47 .
DeleteShould I start preparing ??
Of course
Deleteom tripathi
DeletePlease help. I am getting 55.45 will I qualify ? What about Andhra Pradesh ?
Nileshji,
ReplyDeleteWhat makes you conclude 45 to 48 as quite a few students are hoping 70+.
only few are hoping 70+. You cannot only take care of those few and disregard the rest.
Deletecut off should be around 40 like last year...paper was not very easy
ReplyDeleteYa I too was guessing that only but Mr.Nilesh's post has confused everyone.
ReplyDeleteWhat about INAO(Jr.)?
ReplyDeleteOm sir .....are u from hbcse???
ReplyDeleteHey bro, seems that you too are confused.

All the best.
the exam was of 90 marks
Deletehow then the cutoff is 150-155
According to the marks posted by anonymous there are 25 people's marks among which lowest is 34.5.
DeleteSo, if rest 10 students will secure in between 30-50 or 50-70 or whatever the cut off would reach 40-45.Not more than it.
any mistake in the answer key according to anyone??
ReplyDeleteYes i think there should be some corrections

ReplyDeletePlease be accurate with facts. This scenario i.e. astounding result in 1st round and not so great in 2nd round by Andhra students is not new. It was so for the last 2-3 years too.
